Salt is a dense product that attracts moisture. When it absorbs moisture it hardens into blocks and becomes difficult to discharge. Because of its high bulk density, the same weight fits into a smaller big bag.
For salt, moisture protection and correct sizing come first.

What to consider for salt
- Moisture: A moisture-barrier liner prevents the salt from hardening (caking).
- Dimensions: Salt has a high bulk density; big bag dimensions are calculated from the target filling weight.
- Fine salt: For finely ground salt, a liner or dust-proof seams are preferred.
- Outdoor storage: UV-stabilised fabric is used for big bags that will be kept outdoors.
